Scenes from around Ivalo village. This chapter of the Book of Ivalo is growing slowly over time like a stalagmite.

The road to my cabin passes by some 300-year old spruces. These spruces grow at the very edge of their range. The candle shape is an adaptation to heavy snow that would otherwise break their branches. The place moulds its inhabitants.
An old man lived here. He drowned in the Ivalo river.
A young man burned the house down. He hung himself.
